Soccer!!!

From the first round matches, Germany and Brazil looked very good. Italy, Argentina and Spain looked flat. USA may have a chance. Too bad, Frenchman Zidane is not playing.

Bad referee decision against USA in their second game against Slovenia. It should be 3:2, USA.

Going to be tough to keep the scores even staying at home full time. Wimbledon tennis starts Monday, June 21.

Slovakia 3:2 sent the defending champions Italy home.

Beautiful performance by Japanese soccer players which sent the boys from Denmark home.

The most disappointing group in this world cup soccer tournament is the referee. Too many bad calls at the goal. I will boycott the tournament next time if they don't allow the players to challenge referee's decision through replay. It is a simple thing to do. Allow 2-3 challenges per team per game. In tennis we do, in football we do. Let the referee make the final decision through the replay of the call that have been challenged. It does not take away anything from the referees!

A little bit of information on Wimbledon Tennis; Lu Yen-Hsun of Taipei reached men's singles fourth round, who is now playing Andy Roddick at one set each and tied 2-2 in the third set! Li Na of China reached ladies' singles quarterfinals, her next opponent will be Serena Williams. Here's Li Na:

Wake up friend.
How can the worlds biggest Mafia make money if they allow you to challenge THEIR referees?

First Chinese guy to have reached the quarterfinals at Wimbledon. Lu Yen-Hsun prevailed over Roddick 4-6, 7-6, 7-6, 6-7,9-7!!! The match was so very tight and lasted 4 hours and 30 minutes.

Perhaps Lu would like to be called a Taiwanese, but no matter, he's one of ours. His next stop? Novak Djokovic, who had stomach problem today. So Lu has a good chance Wednesday, he needs to hang on till the fifth set, wait Djokovic to throw up due to lack of oxygen and he will lay down his weapon. Go Lu!

"This guy", as John McEnroe would have called him throughout the match, Lu Yen-Hsun had previously knocked Andy Murray of England out of the last Olympic tennis match in Beijing:

http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/tennis/wimbledon10/news/story?id=5335539

Post-match interview summary:
Roddick: He lost because 1. his return of serves were poor.
2. Lu kept the balls low and did not give Roddick the chance to approach the net.
Lu: He kept telling himself not to overplay, be patient and wait for his chance and he did it. He also said that he did it for his father although he had already passed away.

Federer's reign as King of Grand Slams comes to an end. Without him Roddick would have had three more titles at Wimbledon and more. His name is Berdych.

Very Painful exit for Ghana.
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/report?id=264116&cc=5901&ver=us

But Uruguay lost Suarez with that handball in the last second inside the goal. Great chance for the Dutch to be in the final. I hope the other half is Argentina and not Germany. Very disappointing to watch Brazil got beaten by Netherlands.
