This is the first event we organize after Allen left for China. Hope we will continue our supertime tradition of regular hiking events. Any suggestions are welcome to make our group as active as before.
For this Sunday hiking, we will have two hiking options (easy and moderate) and everyone is encouraged to bring along your parents or senior family members. We can split into two groups and let elder people have a chance to hang out together and enjoy the outdoors as well.
For people who live not that close to our gathering place at Cupertino, if you want to find nearby people to carpool together, you can sign up or post messages here.
And after the event, everyone can upload your photos onto the photo album here.

Carpool places and time:
1. Cupertino 1:30pm @ Parking lot beside Sears (10101 N. Wolfe Road, Cupertino)
Coordinators: panweilin, strawhat
2. Milpitas 1:15pm @ 99 Ranch (338 Barber Lane, Milpitas)

3. San Francisco (please contact volunteer)

4. Peninsula 1:00pm @ Foster City Marina Foods (2992 S. Norfolk St., San Mateo)

Hike time:
2:15pm to 6pm depending on the length of trail. Please meet at gathering point at 2pm, as shown in map below.
Bring:
***water***, lunch, suntan lotion, sturdy shoes, layered cloths, hat and sunglasses
Trails:
1. short and easy one (2-3 miles around nature trail and picnic areas)
2. moderate one (4-8 miles, 1,000 to 1,600 ft elevation gain)
Direction:
1. Start at 10101 N WOLFE RD, CUPERTINO - go 0.2 mi
2. Turn R on STEVENS CREEK BLVD - go 1.0 mi
3. Turn L on S DE ANZA BLVD - go 2.0 mi
4. Continue on SARATOGA SUNNYVALE RD - go 2.4 mi
5. Bear R on CA-9 BIG BASIN WAY - go 2.5 mi
6. Bear L on SANBORN RD - go 1.0 mi
7. Arrive at 16055 SANBORN RD, SARATOGA, on the R
***** Each passenger pays $3 to the driver *****
Trailhead Parking & Gathering Point:
2:00 PM We will meet and start the hike from the gathering point (red-dot below, a restroom structure). Park in the blue area - there are several parking lots, the farther up, the better.

| SV seniors will not hike with younger people for several miles. Instead, we will probably walk around, chat with each other. It's nice to get parents coming out and enjoy california sunshine too.

The gathering location and time inside the park has just been posted. Please see the info at top. Briefly, we will meet at 2 pm next to the restroom at the upper-most parking lot (where you might see some RVs). If the upper-most parking lot is full, there's another one just below it.

Just realized which park this is. I have been there a few times for barbeque. Never got the chance to have meaningful hike there though. The open theatre there plays live Shakespeare show in Summer (http://www.shadyshakes.org/). Enjoyed their Hamlet greatly last year. We should go back there in Aug/Sep for the show (http://www.shadyshakes.org/playbill/default.htm).

Now the weather forecast is Partly Cloudy, 68F. Our Sunday hike will be on.

Paul, very nice pictures. thank you and Weilin for planning the hiking for us. I heard lots of people saying the trail were very interesting and entertaining.
