Any expert hiker can recommond what kind foods you need bring? any other drink expect water?
It will help protect Acute mountain sickness and tough hiking.

Regarding to Paul's anwer to the 2nd question, here is Pan Weilin's log (3 people including Paul made both peaks, 3 people made Mt. Dana and 1 person made 3/4)
8:30am start from Tioga Pass Trailhead
11:30am summit Dana
12:15pm descend towards Dana-Gibbs saddle
3:15pm summit Gibbs
6:15pm end at Mono Pass Trailhead
http://www.goluck.com/bayareadragon/portal/?uid-138-action-viewspace-itemid-157
If we start 10:00am and hike at the same pace as Paul and Weilin did, we will come down around 8:00pm. As I am writing now (8:30pm), it's getting darker. I am not confident if we can hike at Paul and Weilin's pace.

Just got more info from Zurg in the email.

How hard is it compared with Dana alone?
There is about 40 minutes of easy class 3 climb near the top of Gibbs, where you need to use hands at times. But it's relatively short. Before the class 3 section, the rocks are quite loose. I remember weilin stayed a bit higher than I was during the traverse. Either way works. But if I do this again, I would top off the northeast ridge earlier. At some point, you have to top off the ridge and climb the class 3 northeast ridge.
How long would it take? If we start at 10am, is it too late?
We started at 8:30am and was on top of Dana at 11:30am. We left Dana a bit before 12:10pm and was on top of Gibbs at 3:30pm. After 10 minutes or so, we left Gibbs and we arrived at Mono Pass trailhead at 6:15pm. However, we walked leisurely from Gibbs to trailhead as the view was just too great.
What is the best route from Dana to Gibbs?
The route is obvious. I think the earlier you get on the northeast ridge of Gibbs, the better. It's because the rocks below the ridge is very loose. See above.

My comments are below:
The ridge from Dana to Gibbs is class 3. If you have not much class 3 scrambling experiences in the past, please consider to try Dana only. Remember it's class 3 on 12000 feet, and after a 3-mile strenuous hike.
If you cannot summit Dana in 2 1/2 hours, please consider to give up Gibbs.
For all people who decide to try Gibbs, please stay together from Dana to Gibbs to trailhead. You may need help from your group mates and they may need help from you.
Please wear a pair of sturdy hiking/mountaineering shoes, or you may hurt your feet or ankles.
For food and drink, I'd suggest 2 1/2 or more liter of water for everyone. Drinking enough water is one way to avoid mountain sickness. Sport drink is ok if you like the taste. Any snack or food would be ok if it can be digested quickly. Hat and sun screen are recommended.
Headlight/flashlight is a must if you plan to try Gibbs. It's also recommended if you want to try Dana only.
Ggsh would send the carpool time in another message. Whenever it is, please be on time. We won't have too much time to spare on Saturday.
After the chickengrandma-style talks, here are some easy words: when on the trail, it will be a wonderful time to enjoy the great views everywhere. That's probably the reason we drive so long for it.

顶一下。在 Mt. Dana 顶上看到的 Mono Lake 很漂亮,但是上山的碎石路很难看。
有机会要试一下。

Many thanks to ggsh for organizing the great event for us and driving the car.
Also thanks to other people who helped me so much on the trail. Yesterday the high altitude made me very sick. I had to concentrate on my legs to move every step.
The tiredness will be gone soon, while the beauty of the wilderness will be engraved in our memories.
